Weber Spirit E-310 vs. Genesis E-310

If you are looking for a three-burner gas grill, there is a large chance that you are now considering to get either Weber Spirit E-310 or Weber Genesis E-310. Of course, Weber gas grill models have always been considered to be among the best choices available on the market. However, choosing between Weber Genesis E-310 and Weber Spirit E-310 can be quite tricky. The two seem to share a lot of similarities with each other. Even so, Weber Genesis E-310 is a little bit more expensive than Weber Spirit E-310. So, what are the differences, if any?

Total Cooking Area
The most significant difference between Weber Genesis E-310 and Weber Spirit E-310 is, of course, the total cooking area. Even though both models are three-burner gas grills, they have different sizes. Weber Genesis E-310 is a thud bulkier to the sides compared to Weber Spirit E-310. This is due to the fact that the Genesis model has a larger cooking area, which is 637 sq. in., suitable for about 25 hamburger patties. On the other hand, the Spirit model only has 529 sq. in. cooking area, suitable for about 21 hamburger patties.

Because of the larger cooking area, it is just appropriate if the model comes with higher heat output level as well. Weber Genesis E-310 has 38,000 BTU heating power while Weber Spirit E-310 only has 32,000 BTU heating power. Overall, both models perform the cooking job quickly and efficiently. Ignition System
Another difference between Weber Genesis E-310 and Weber Spirit E-310 is the ignition system. Weber Genesis E-310 still relies on an individual electronic ignition system. On the other hand, Weber Spirit E-310 comes with the Electronic Crossover ignition system, which allows you to start the gas grill with just a simple push of a button.

Other Features
The other features of Weber Genesis E-310 and Weber Spirit E-310 are identical. They each features two stainless steel work tables, which can be very handy especially for outdoor cooking. They each also features six tool hooks and a fuel gauge to inform you of the remaining amount of fuel available in the LP tank. Both models are durable and very easy to clean, thanks to the porcelain-enameled construction.

Weber Spirit E-310 vs. Genesis E-310
The only reason to go with Weber Genesis E-310 is the larger cooking area. If you want to be able to grill up to 25 hamburger patties at once, then Weber Genesis E-310 is the way. However, if you are fine with Weber Spirit E-310’s slightly smaller cooking area, then you can choose it and save some bucks.
